When people speak of an aso oke, they are usually referring to the traditional Yoruba women's garment. It consists of four parts:

  • Buba - Yoruba blouse
  • Iro - a wrap skirt
  • Gele - head tie
  • Iborun or Ipele - shawl or shoulder sash
