Ashwin Ram

Dr. Ashwin Ram is an Innovation Fellow at PARC, where he leads Augmented Social Cognition and Healthcare. He is on leave as Associate Professor in the School of Interactive Computing in the College of Computing of the Georgia Institute of Technology, an Associate Professor of Cognitive Science, an Adjunct Professor in the School of Psychology, and an Adjunct Professor in Math & Computer Science at Emory University. He is the Director of Georgia Tech's Cognitive Computing Lab.

Dr. Ram received his PhD from Yale University in 1989, his MS from University of Illinois in 1984, and his BTech from IIT Delhi in 1982 where he received the President of India's Gold Medal for best undergraduate performance. He has published 2 books and over 100 scientific articles in international forums. He has founded four Georgia Tech spinoffs, Enkia Corporation (acquired by Sentiment360, which developed AI software for social media applications; Ardext Technologies, an EDA test company; Cobot Health Corporation, a health 2.0 company; and Inquus Corporation (OpenStudy), an online social learning network for students and faculty.

He is a closet anthropologist and loves travel, people and culture.
