Ashington A.F.C. - Colours and Crest

Colours and Crest

Ashington's colours are black and white vertical stripes, used on the shirt and paired with black shorts and black socks for home matches. While away, they use an all light blue shirt and socks with white shorts.

The Ashington AFC badge has two lions flanking a badge with a stylized AFC logo, with a soccer ball between the legs of the A. Above and below the badge are banners showing the 1888 year of establishment (though the club was founded in 1883) and the town name, respectively.

Famous quotes containing the words colours and, colours and/or crest:

    I should need
Colours and words that are unknown to man,
    To paint the visionary dreariness
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

    The sounding cataract
Haunted me like a passion: the tall rock,
The mountain, and the deep and gloomy wood,
Their colours and their forms, were then to me
An appetite: a feeling and a love,
That had no need of a remoter charm,
By thought supplied, or any interest
    Unborrowed from the eye.—
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

What shall he have that killed the deer?
His leather skin and horns to wear.
    Then sing him home.
Take thou no scorn to wear the horn,
    It was a crest ere thou wast born;
    Thy father’s father wore it,
    And thy father bore it.
The horn, the horn, the lusty horn
Is not a thing to laugh to scorn.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
