The Arthur Highway (A9) is a Tasmanian highway which runs from Sorell in the near south to Port Arthur in the far south-east.
It is notorious for crashes and was the focus of a media campaign to make it safer until late 2004, where it was superseded in danger by the equally notorious Lyell Highway.
Famous quotes containing the words arthur and/or highway:
“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
—Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (18591930)
“My manner is the footnote to your immoral
Beauty, that leads me with a magic hair
Up the spun highway of a vanishing hill
To Words....”
—Allen Tate (18991979)
