Famous quotes containing the words arthur c, arthur and/or brooks:

Our ideas must be as broad as Nature if they are to interpret Nature.
    Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930)

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
    —Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930)

Like most vigorous-minded men, seeing that there was no stopping-place between dogma and negation, he preferred to accept dogma. Of all weaknesses he most disliked timed and half-hearted faith. —Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)
