Aronson LLC - Firm History

Firm History

The firm was formed in 1962 by Gerald R. Aronson. With additions to management came several name changes: in 1974, the firm was renamed Aronson, Greene, Fisher & Co., Chartered; in 1986 it became Aronson, Fetridge, Weigle & Stern; in 1992, Aronson Fetridge, Weigle & Schimel; in 1994, Aronson, Fetridge & Weigle; and in 2001, Aronson & Company. In 2011, the firm adopted its current name, Aronson LLC when it changed its corporate management structure.

In 2005, Aronson merged with Capron Associates, LLP, a small public accounting firm based in Bethesda, MD. Capron was absorbed into Aronson's organizational structure, operating under the Aronson name and moving to their Rockville, MD offices. In 2008, the company announced that they had integrated Norman A. Snyder, III, CPA’s audit practice, formerly associated with Virginia’s Fitzgerald, Snyder & Co., into their current practice. In 2009, Aronson moved to new headquarters.

Famous quotes containing the words firm and/or history:

Baltimore lay very near the immense protein factory of Chesapeake Bay, and out of the bay it ate divinely. I well recall the time when prime hard crabs of the channel species, blue in color, at least eight inches in length along the shell, and with snow-white meat almost as firm as soap, were hawked in Hollins Street of Summer mornings at ten cents a dozen.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

I feel as tall as you.
Ellis Meredith, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4, ch. 14, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)
