The first 8 batches - male cadets occupied the barracks across the main college building, while female cadets were housed near CMH Rawalpindi. Then when 5th MBBS was the final year it occupied the Hostel no 2 (present razi coy), 6th MBBS occupied hostel no 2 (Qasim coy) and 7th mbbs occupied hostel (present Sina coy), 8th MBBS boys were distributed to all 3 hostels and 9th MBBS lived in barracks near wired (tarun wala) mess or mess no 5. Then when 5TH MBBS graduated and went to AMC center, the present Ayub Coy building was completed and as the 10th MBBS arrived the company system started and the 6th MBBS course had the honor to make history by being the first batch to hold all the key appointments in this system. 10th MBBS was the first course to which didn't go to barracks. So medical cadets, paying cadets and foreign military cadets from all 3 hostels and 10th MBBS were divided into 4 companies. So all AM College companies are of same age. Meanwhile the girls hostel was named as Ayshea company and in about 2006 the Fatima company was built due to raised in living nust female cadets. Luqman Coy was built in 2006 so that nust cadets could live in it separately but till date the nustians have not been separated and continue to live with the medical cadets.

Presently residential arrangements for medical students and cadets are divided into 6 Companies. Male cadets are allotted one of 4 companies i.e. Qasim, Razi, Sina and Ayub. Female cadets get Ayesha and Fatima companies.

Companies are managed by the appointments. AM College Battalion appointments overlook all the affairs in the company hostels and company appointments are responsible for their companies. Intra-company appointments like Sergeant, Corporal and Lance Corporal are meant to look after the cadets of their entries. Battalion appointments include Battalion Senior Under Officer (BSUO), Battalion Junior Under Officer (BJUO) & Battalion Sergeant Major (BSM) and Battalion Sports Sergeant (BSS). Company appointments include Company Senior Under Officer (CSUO), Company Junior Under Officer (CJUO), Company Sergeant Major (CSM) and Company Sports Sergeant (CSS). Appointments have official power to groom, train and motivate their under training cadets to make them best combat medics and well-groomed doctors who are sparkling gems and outclass other medical graduates on basis of their conduct and grooming. Juniors have to obey all commands of the seniors and seniors help and own their juniors. A senior appointment can officially complain against the juniors in case of insubordination to the Battalion Adjutant/Coy Commander or the Battalion Commander. Being an army institute the wrongdoings of juniors are checked and juniors are even punished by the appointments so that they do not repeat the blunders and become the best. Lance Corporal 1st year from 2nd year, Mid Corporal from 3rd year and Corporal from 4th year are responsible for the grooming and military training of the new cadets.
