Armin Cruz

Armin Cruz is a former United States Army reservist from Plano, Texas, one of several soldiers charged and convicted by the US Army in connection with the 2003-2004 Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal in Baghdad, Iraq during and after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He pled guilty to conspiracy to mistreat subordinates and mistreatment of prisoners.

He was an intelligence analyst for the 205th Military Intelligence Brigade during this time and the first soldier from military intelligence convicted in connection with the scandal. He was represented by military lawyer Stephen Karns. In return for a guilty plea, he was sentenced to eight months confinement, reduction in rank to private and a bad conduct discharge.
