Dave and the Giant Pickle was released in March 1, 1996 on VHS and re-released on DVD on February 8, 2009. Subtitled "A Lesson in Self-Esteem", it gives the message that with God's help, people can accomplish any goal. The lesson is illustrated through a retelling of the biblical story of David and Goliath from the Book of Samuel. The episode's countertop segments are memorable for giving fans their first glimpse of Larry-Boy and hearing his catchphrase, "I am that Hero!".
