Sweets

Arcot is Famous for its large number of Sweet Stalls. It has large number of sweet stalls compared to its town size. The most famous sweet of Arcot is Makkan Beda. Though Makkan Peda, resembles Gulab Jamun, it is way ahead of the taste of Gulab Jamun and incomparable to any sweet. Makkan Peda can be termed as a divine sweet, as its taste is unmatched and will remain in the mouth forever. Makkan Peda is a must eat, for any sweet lover. Probably no sweet in India can match the taste of the Makkan Peda. In spite of its great taste, surprisingly Makkan Peda is not as popular as Srivilliputhur Pal Khova or Tirunelveli Halwa or Rasipuram Mysore Pak.
