Arcos de Valdevez is a municipality along the northern frontier of Portugal and Galicia (Spain), that incorporates a territory of 447.6 square kilometres (172.8 sq mi) and a total population of 24,466 inhabitants (2006). The municipality is composed of 51 parishes, and is the largest administrative unit of the district of Viana do Castelo.
