Arabian Nights (Magic: The Gathering)
Arabian Nights was the fourth Magic: The Gathering set and the first expansion set. The set is composed entirely of new cards. The setting of Arabian Nights is inspired by the themes and characters of the Thousand and One Arabian Nights with some of the characters and places coming directly from these tales. Arabian Nights is the only regular Magic expansion based on real-world fiction. All other sets with the exception of the Portal Three Kingdoms introductory set are based on fiction created exclusively for the game. The expansion symbol of Arabian Nights is a scimitar.

Famous quotes containing the words arabian and/or nights:
“O animal excellence,
Take pterodactyl flight
Fire-winged into the air
And find your lair
With cunning sense
On some Arabian bight....”
—Allen Tate (18991979)
“Autumn hath all the summers fruitful treasure;
Gone is our sport, fled is poor Croydons pleasure.
Short days, sharp days, long nights come on apace,
Ah! who shall hide us from the winters face?
Cold doth increase, the sickness will not cease,
And here we lie, God knows, with little ease.
From winter, plague, and pestilence, good Lord, deliver us!”
—Thomas Nashe (15671601)
