Northern District
Of the approximately 1,242,000 people living in the North District, around 661,000 are Arabs. In 2008 Arabs made up 53% of the North District's population, making it Israel's only district with an Arab majority. 44% of the Israeli-Arab population lives in this district. Nazareth is the largest city, with a population of approximately 66,000.
