Applied Scholastics - Study Tech

Study Tech

Study Tech is a teaching methodology developed by L Ron Hubbard.

Students are taught that "Misunderstood Words" are the cause of all confusion or misunderstanding. They are taught to use dictionaries extensively. Emphasis is also put on making sure children are taught at a "Gradient", or the idea that subjects crucial elementary concepts, come before more difficult concepts. "Mass" is described as a measure of mental tangibility that a student ascribes to a subject, so that the student has a picture in their mind of the 'thing they are learning about.

Applied Scholastics licenses Study tech to a number of schools throughout the world. In return, these schools pay 4% of their gross income to Applied Scholastics.

Famous quotes containing the word study:

We have tried so hard to adulterate our hearts, and have so greatly abused the microscope to study the hideous excrescences and shameful warts which cover them and which we take pleasure in magnifying, that it is impossible for us to speak the language of other men.
    Charles Baudelaire (1821–1867)
