Aphanizomenon Flos-aquae - Research

Research

Recently, many scientifically-controlled studies have analyzed the immune system-enhancing properties of A. flos-aquae.

A recent double-blind, cross-over study at the Royal Victoria Hospital led by Dr. Gitte Jensen, discovered cyanobacteria uniquely support the healthy function of the immune system.

The following are brief summaries of other scientific studies:

  • University of New Mexico - placebo controlled study. After eating AFA food supplement for a period of one month, intestinal function can improve. Another placebo-controlled study suggests that eating Aphanizomenon flos-aquae can stimulate specific areas of the brain for increased mental alertness.

Recently the first stage of an extensive research project carried out at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Canada, studying the effect of A. flos-aquae on the immune and endocrine systems, as well as on general blood physiology, found that eating it had a profound effect on natural killer cells (NKCs). A. flos-aquae triggers the movement of 40% of the circulating NKCs from the blood to tissues.

Famous quotes containing the word research:

The research on gender and morality shows that women and men looked at the world through very different moral frameworks. Men tend to think in terms of “justice” or absolute “right and wrong,” while women define morality through the filter of how relationships will be affected. Given these basic differences, why would men and women suddenly agree about disciplining children?
    Ron Taffel (20th century)

Our science has become terrible, our research dangerous, our findings deadly. We physicists have to make peace with reality. Reality is not as strong as we are. We will ruin reality.
    Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921–1990)

One of the most important findings to come out of our research is that being where you want to be is good for you. We found a very strong correlation between preferring the role you are in and well-being. The homemaker who is at home because she likes that “job,” because it meets her own desires and needs, tends to feel good about her life. The woman at work who wants to be there also rates high in well-being.
    Grace Baruch (20th century)
