Foundation Course

The Foundation Year allows students to build the base for learning Art and Design. The focus is on developing the fundamental skills & understanding through Life Drawing, Colour, Basic Design, Art Appreciation & Aesthetics, Methods & Materials, Workshops, Art History, Composition, Form and Space. The Foundation year combines a studio curriculum with core studies in liberal arts and sciences - critical and cultural perspective. Students will acquire the basic skills and language necessary to success in any discipline. In essence, the Foundation Year serves as the platform to lifelong learning.

Foundation equips students with a visual vocabulary. Faculty and students discuss the concepts and test the process of drawing, and painting - all of which are used by all art students, no matter what their major is.
