Ape Escape 2 - Types of Pipo Monkeys

Types of Pipo Monkeys

  • Yellow pants monkeys: These monkeys can best be described as "normal" monkeys. The yellows pants that they wear indicate that they have no special abilities to speak of, but some have been known to carry laser guns or a special infatuation-ray that temporarily stuns the player. They are the most common type of monkey.
  • Aqua blue pants monkeys: Monkeys with pale blue pants are considered cowardly, and aren't known for fighting back when attacked. However, they like to run away and hide from the player, making them difficult to locate from time to time. They can often be found hiding in breakable crates and similar objects. In addition to sporting pale, aqua-colored pants, their eyes are upturned, making them look nervous or frightened.
  • Blue pants monkeys: Monkeys wearing dark blue pants will also sport sleek-looking shades and a matching blue scarf that trails in the wind behind them as they speed away. These monkeys are fast little runners, often requiring the use of gadgets to capture. Some are known to toss banana peels behind them as they run, in an attempt to trip their pursuer.
  • White pants monkeys: Monkeys wearing white pants are demolitions experts. When attacked, they throw bombs at the character, which can make them formidable in tight spaces. However, they are also nearly blind, allowing the player a chance to sneak up on them before they can light any fuses. Along with their pants, they wear glasses with a swirly-pattern on the lenses, indicating that they cannot see very well.
  • Black pants monkeys: Monkeys wearing black pants also wear dark sunglasses and carry machine guns. They run no faster than ordinary monkeys, but their gun-happy attacks can make them tough to get close to. While they are firing, however, they won't run away, which gives the player ample time to close the distance.
  • Red pants monkeys: Bright red pants and angry, down-turned eyes are dead giveaways to the violent natures of the monkeys that bear them. Monkeys wearing red pants also sport big boxing gloves, and will let loose with a barrage of punches if the character gets up close and personal with them. These monkeys have no real weakness to speak of, and can only be bested by fighting back.
  • Green pants monkeys: Also seen wearing goggles and packs on their backs, monkeys with green pants are among the most difficult to fight. They are tough to get close to, due to the missiles they fire from the packs strapped to their backs. However, like the monkeys in white pants, they have a sensory problem. The goggles make them able to see the player from a distance, but only if the player is moving. Closing in on the monkeys by ducking and curling up on the ground can make getting within the catching-radius somewhat simpler.
  • Rainbow pants monkeys: These monkeys do not actually wear rainbow pants. They instead wear special costumes unique to them. Their special costumes are indicators of unpredictability. They may be capable of throwing bombs, running quickly, using special weapons, or any combination of the three. Their aggression is also typically higher than that of other monkeys.
  • Naked monkeys: Some monkeys don't wear any pants at all. Their personalities are, however, indicated by the shape of their eyes or glasses. Oftentimes nude monkeys will be seen carrying a towel in the color of the pants they would ordinarily wear.

Famous quotes containing the words types of, types and/or monkeys:

... there are two types of happiness and I have chosen that of the murderers. For I am happy. There was a time when I thought I had reached the limit of distress. Beyond that limit, there is a sterile and magnificent happiness.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

He types his laboured column—weary drudge!
    Senile fudge and solemn:
    Spare, editor, to condemn
These dry leaves of his autumn.
    Robertson Davies (b. 1913)

You know, that stuff about pink elephants, that’s the bunk. It’s little animals. Little tiny turkeys in straw hats. Midget monkeys coming through the keyholes.
    Billy Wilder (b. 1906)
