According to Ukrainian-American historian Petro Mirchuk strong Ukrainophobia existed among members of the Jewish diaspora in the United States during the 1990s, as well as among some Russian-Americans. He referred to trials against Ukrainians who were accused of war crimes against Jews by the prosecutors of the Office of Special Investigations comparing them with witch-hunts.
