History
Anoka Technical College is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
The campus is located in the City of Anoka and partially rests on the eastern border of the City of Ramsey. The building is largely the superstructure of the old Cargill plant. Periodic investments over time have transformed the building into a state-of-the-art technical college.
Dr. Jessica Stumpf has been serving as interim president of Anoka-Ramsey Community College since 2010. Beginning July 2011, Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College, which has campuses in Coon Rapids and Cambridge, are aligned under one president to better serve students in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities.
With the state of the present economy favoring short-term technical education, and some realignment of admissions services, the college is currently experiencing the highest volume of newly enrolled students in 15 years.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“Modern Western thought will pass into history and be incorporated in it, will have its influence and its place, just as our body will pass into the composition of grass, of sheep, of cutlets, and of men. We do not like that kind of immortality, but what is to be done about it?”
—Alexander Herzen (18121870)
“You that would judge me do not judge alone
This book or that, come to this hallowed place
Where my friends portraits hang and look thereon;
Irelands history in their lineaments trace;
Think where mans glory most begins and ends
And say my glory was I had such friends.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“There has never been in history another such culture as the Western civilization M a culture which has practiced the belief that the physical and social environment of man is subject to rational manipulation and that history is subject to the will and action of man; whereas central to the traditional cultures of the rivals of Western civilization, those of Africa and Asia, is a belief that it is environment that dominates man.”
—Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
