Smith is a licensed psychologist in Texas, and Massachusetts and a licensed specialist in school psychology in Texas;. She received a doctor of philosophy degree in educational psychology at The University of Texas and a bachelor of arts in psychology at Trinity University. She was the coach of the WTT Boston Lobsters team in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
