Famous quotes containing the words ace, award and/or nomination:

I do not object to Gladstone’s always having the ace of trumps up his sleeve, but only to his pretence that God had put it there.
    Henry Labouchere (1831–1912)

The award of a pure gold medal for poetry would flatter the recipient unduly: no poem ever attains such carat purity.
    Robert Graves (1895–1985)

Do you know I believe that [William Jennings] Bryan will force his nomination on the Democrats again. I believe he will either do this by advocating Prohibition, or else he will run on a Prohibition platform independent of the Democrats. William Howard Taft (1857–1930)
