Achebe is an enemy of the Black Panther in the Marvel Comics universe.
Created by Christopher Priest and Mark Texeira, the character was mentioned in Black Panther vol. 3, #2, and made his first full appearance in Black Panther vol. 3, #3.
While a poor farmer somewhere in South Africa, Achebe sold his soul to the demon Mephisto. Becoming a brilliant mind and scholar, Achebe makes close ties with Wakanda, the home of T'Challa (Black Panther), who restricts the man from entering the kingdom. Achebe desperately tries to invade the land, and finally makes makeshift camps along with several other refugees from a Ghudaza war. T'Challa accepts the outsiders, seeing it as a chance to draw his enemies into the open. Achebe, with his minions, lures T'Challa to America. When Mephisto cuts Achebe loose, his insanity worsens. Taking advice from his hand puppet, Achebe makes several attempts to take over the Wakandan kingdom. The most successful attempt (but not completely) was creating "Prowler" robots to disguise as citizens, making it ever more surprising when the machine invades the T'Challa's palace. Achebe and the Black Panther fight for the last time, before Achebe is banished from civilization and goes into hiding.
