Anglo-Chinese School (International) Singapore - Academic Programme

Academic Programme

The school offers a six-year secondary and pre-university programme where they take the IGCSE (examined by University of Cambridge International Examinations) in their fourth year and the IB Diploma Programme in the sixth year. Those with a weak English proficiency would have to take a bridging programme for around six months to a year where they will be taught English, mathematics, science, music, visual arts and a humanities subject. Students in the bridging programme would have separate form classes from the mainstream students. All Singaporean students are required to take their mother tongue as per requirements from the Ministry of Education, unless exempted. International students have to take a second language of their choice and are obliged to do so at IB level as part of the IB Diploma Programme.

Famous quotes containing the words academic and/or programme:

I was so grateful to be independent of the academic establishment. I thought, how awful it would be to have my future hinge on such people and such decisions.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)

Bolkenstein, a Minister, was speaking on the Dutch programme from London, and he said that they ought to make a collection of diaries and letters after the war. Of course, they all made a rush at my diary immediately. Just imagine how interesting it would be if I were to publish a romance of the “Secret Annexe.” The title alone would be enough to make people think it was a detective story.
    Anne Frank (1929–1945)
