Famous quotes containing the words angels, dirty and/or faces:

    But man, proud man,
Dressed in a little brief authority,
Most ignorant of what he’s most assured,
His glassy essence, like an angry ape
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
    As makes the angels weep.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

All that hoops are good for is to clean dirty shoes and keep fellows at a distance.
    Samuel Richardson (1689–1761)

The path was a vague parting in the grass
That led us to a weathered windowsill.
We pressed our faces to the pane. “You see,” he said,
“Everything’s as she left it when she died....”
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
