Junk Shop
In 1996, Andy Hope moved the contents of the Munich thrift store Puschmann to an art space where they were assembled for sale together with works from a number of other artists. Paintings and drawings by Andy Hope depicting landscapes and replicating famous works by Kazimir Malevich were stuck on top of patterned wallpaper.

Famous quotes containing the words junk and/or shop:
“What stunned me was the regular assertion that feminists were anti-family. . . . It was motherhood that got me into the movement in the first place. I became an activist after recognizing how excruciatingly personal the political was to me and my sons. It was the womens movement that put self-esteem back into just a housewife, rescuing our intelligence from the junk pile of instinct and making it human, deliberate, powerful.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
“Here thou art painted in the dress
Of an inhuman murderess;
Examining upon our hearts
Thy fertile shop of cruel arts:
Engines more keen than ever yet
Adorned tyrants cabinet,
Of which the most tormenting are
Black eyes, red lips, and curled hair.”
—Andrew Marvell (16211678)
