Therapeutic Indications
Androgen replacement has a direct role in the treatment of hypogonadism, and may improve associated features such as anemia, and fatigue.
In addition, a number of other effects of testosterone have led to research into possible therapeutic roles in:
- erectile dysfunction
- osteoporosis
- diabetes mellitus
- chronic heart failure
- dementia, but the evidence base is small and the balance of benefit needs to be clarified

Famous quotes containing the words therapeutic and/or indications:
“As a science of the unconscious it is a therapeutic method, in the grand style, a method overarching the individual case. Call this, if you choose, a poets utopia.”
—Thomas Mann (18751955)
“The indications are that swearing preceded the development of cursing. That is, expletives, maledictions, exclamations, and imprecations of the immediately explosive or vituperative kind preceded the speechmaking and later rituals involved in the deliberate apportioning of the fate of an enemy. Swearing of the former variety is from the lips only, but the latter is from the heart. Damn it! is not that same as Damn you!”
—Ashley Montagu (b. 1905)
