Andrew Wilkinson

Andrew Wilkinson (1697–1784) was a British politician and racehorse breeder.

A resident of Boroughbridge, he was returned in 1735 as Member of Parliament for Aldborough, succeeding his late father-in-law William Jessop. He would retain the seat until 1772, with the exception of the years 1765–1768, when he was displaced by Viscount Villiers.

By his marriage to Barbara Jessop, he inherited Broom Hall. On his death in 1784, it was left to his eldest son, Rev. James Wilkinson. His third son, also named Andrew, became a captain in the Royal Navy.
