Mathematical Work
Beal has been described as a "numbers nut", and has attempted a solution to Fermat's Last Theorem. His work in mathematical number theory also included his 1993 articulation of Beal's conjecture, a generalization of Fermat's theorem; he funded a $100,000 (USD) prize for its proof or disproof.
