And Listen To My Song

And Listen To My Song is the third LP released by traditional Irish singer Frank Harte. It was the first of many albums recorded with Donal Lunny as accompanist and the first of Frank's many recordings published by Hummingbird Records. It was first recorded on vinyl in 1975 and reissued for the first time in CD format in 2003. Donal Lunny provides accompaniment on guitar and bazouki on every second track, the rest being sung unaccompanied.

' It is a measure and reflection of the high plateau of excellence achieved and maintained by Frank Harte of Dublin' according to Geordie McIntyre.

The accompanying twenty-page booklet has all the lyrics for the songs as well as meticulous notes that are a characteristic of any Frank Harte album.

Famous quotes containing the words listen and/or song:

In the continual enterprise of trying to guide appropriately, renegotiate with, listen to and just generally coexist with our teenage children, we ourselves are changed. We learn even more clearly what our base-line virtues are. We listen to our teenagers and change our minds about some things, stretching our own limits. We learn our own capacity for flexibility, firmness and endurance.
—Jean Jacobs Speizer. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Women’s Health Collective, ch. 4 (1978)

I could take the Harlem night
    and wrap around you,
Take the neon lights and make a crown,
    Take the Lenox Avenue buses,
    Taxis, subways,
And for your love song tone their rumble down.
    Langston Hughes (1902–1967)
