Ancient Diocese Of Oloron

The former Catholic Diocese of Oloron in south-west France was suppressed after the French Revolution, by the Concordat of 1801. It dated from the sixth century.

The seat of the bishops of Oloron was in Oloron Cathedral in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, now in Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Its territory became part of the diocese of Bayonne.

Famous quotes containing the word ancient:

There can be no more ancient and traditional American value than ignorance. Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
