American Motor Sleigh (1905 Automobile)

The American Motor Sleigh was made by the American Motor Sleigh Co in 1905. It was designed for travel on snow, with a single-cylinder engine which drove a pronged wheel, with runners in place of conventional wheels.

Famous quotes containing the words american and/or motor:

The keynote of American civilization is a sort of warm-hearted vulgarity. The Americans have none of the irony of the English, none of their cool poise, none of their manner. But they do have friendliness. Where an Englishman would give you his card, an American would very likely give you his shirt.
    Raymond Chandler (1888–1959)

    We disparage reason.
But all the time it’s what we’re most concerned with.
There’s will as motor and there’s will as brakes.
Reason is, I suppose, the steering gear.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
