Public Policy

The AIBS Public Policy Office works at the interface of science and public policy. The office, staffed by science policy and public affairs professionals, works to promote the use of biological sciences knowledge in our nation’s public policy and to develop and advance science policy that serves the needs of the scientific research and education communities, particularly the biological sciences. Issues addressed by the policy office are: funding for the biological sciences, scientific collections, science education, scientific integrity, and research and government agencies.

Famous quotes containing the words public and/or policy:

Twenty years of romance makes a woman look like a ruin; but twenty years of marriage makes her look like a public building.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)

Mr. Wiggam, I want you to change the policy of The Clarion. I want you to write a story I should have written myself long ago. I want you to tell the people of San Francisco that no city can exist without law and order. Write a story about that flag, write about what verifies and brings a promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. There are some people in this town who don’t seem to know that. Let The Clarion tell them.
    Ben Hecht (1893–1964)
