Other Recurring Characters

  • BarbaraBarbHanson (voiced by Rachael MacFarlane) - She is the Langley Falls realtor at Expositions Realty. Her right hand was cut off after Stan sent her to Guantanamo Bay in "Threat Levels" and she wears a prosthetic hook. She seems to have a strong dislike for Francine and is often seen hanging out with Kristy White. The episode "Roger 'n' Me" reveals that she and Captain Monty are best friends.
  • Turlington (voiced by Forest Whitaker) - Turlington is a detective character. He speaks in a low voice and is suspicious of almost everything and everyone. Turlington first appears in "Meter Made" working at Parking Internal Affairs. He is suspicious of Stan when the quarter count drops; in an example, Turlington tells Stan that he knows he could not be the culprit and immediately afterwards says that he is suspicious of him. At the end of the episode, he proclaims that he was suspicious of Stan but let his suspicions go after learning he is in the CIA. The given name of this particular Turlington is not revealed. His second appearance is in "Chimdale" now working as a spa detective and he is identified as "Ron" by Mr. Chimdale, the manager of the Chimdale spa. He is immediately suspicious of Roger and Francine, who smuggled Hayley to the spa. In addition, he is unable to find a pistachio thief and upon discovering Hayley asks the Smiths to help him. However, he instantly realizes that Mr. Chimdale was the thief. Chimdale had devised an "elaborate" mystery to make Turlington the greatest spa detective since his father. His third appearance in "Live and Let Fry" protecting the border of Langley Falls from trans-fat smuggling. In this episode he identifies himself as "Daniel". A running gag is that he is slow to react, something that others take advantage of to get rid of the evidence before he arrives. Turlington seems to have had emotional problems pertaining to his mother often trying to talk to her in heaven asking for help or guidance. Turlington is based on the character of Jon Kavanaugh who was played by Forest Whitaker on the live drama series, The Shield.
  • Captain Monty (voiced by Matt McKenna) - A man with only one eye, only one hand and only one leg, wearing stereotypical pirate gear, such as an eye patch, a prosthetic hook, and a peg leg. He speaks very slowly and in an excessively elaborate and hyperbolic manner. He is shown working as a waiter for a fondue restaurant, the host of the most prestigious children's books author interview program in Langley Falls and is best friends with Barbara Hanson. He is a parody of James Lipton.
  • Beauregard Lawrence LaFontaine (voiced by Leslie Jordan) - Langley Falls' leading hair stylist. He is a dwarf whose legs are deformed, requiring him to ride sidesaddle on his greyhound Montague to get around. In 100 A.D., Beauregard and Montague are among the people who died in the bus crash when Stan offers a bounty for the capture of Hayley and Jeff.
  • Mrs. Yoshida (voiced by Sandra Oh) - Toshi and Akiko's mother and one of the few recurring members of the Yoshida family. She asks Steve to take Akiko trick-or-treating in "Best Little Horror House in Langley Falls", following an argument with Toshi over his refusal to wear a Samurai costume she had purchased for him. Though she speaks perfect English, Francine is shown to not be able to understand her in "Weiner of Our Discontent", asking if anyone spoke sushi hostess.
  • Mr. Yoshida (voiced by Reggie Lee) - Toshi and Akiko's rarely-seen father and the apparent head of the Yoshida family. Mr. Yoshida has only made one appearance thus far, showing up briefly in "May The Best Stan Win", where he was shown to be embarrassed after Steve and his friends discover a sex doll he had hidden in his bedroom.
  • Nemo (voiced by Murray Miller) - The insane Antichrist who appeared in the apocalyptic future depicted in "Rapture's Delight", taking his title to various extremes by being the exact opposite of Jesus in every way. His origins are revealed in "Season's Beatings", being the biological son of a jackal who ended up being adopted by Jeff. When his identity is found out, Nemo attempts to kill Stan and his group off as they obtain the set of sacred daggers needed to kill him. However, having bonded with the child, Hayley stops her father and sends Nemo off to Alaska to be raised by Sarah Palin. After Sarah Palin leaves his room, Nemo vows to meet Stan again when the rapture comes. He meets his end during the Rapture, when Jesus throws a crucifix into his forehead during their fight in the ruins of the UN building. Nemo had since become a Riddler esque character, acting as the exact opposite of Jesus (this attributes to his downfall, since his terrible carpentry skills allowed Stan, Jesus, and Francine to escape his trap).

Famous quotes containing the words recurring and/or characters:

I am a writer and a feminist, and the two seem to be constantly in conflict.... ever since I became loosely involved with it, it has seemed to me one of the recurring ironies of this movement that there is no way to tell the truth about it without, in some small way, seeming to hurt it.
    Nora Ephron (b. 1941)

Children pay little attention to their parent’s teachings, but reproduce their characters faithfully.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
