American Cinema Editors - Magazine

Magazine

Since 1951, the ACE publishes the CINEMAEDITOR quarterly magazine. It began as an in-house publication, but grew to 5,000 subscribers in 1963. In the early 1990s the magazine collapsed into a four page newsletter. In 1994, Jack Tucker was appointed as the Editor and he with President Tom Rolf and Laura Young expanded the publication into today's magazine. Walter Fernandez, Jr. leads the magazine's team, with publications committee chair Edgar Burcksen.

Famous quotes containing the word magazine:

I have been searching history to see if really a woman has any precedent to claim the right to have her rights, and I am compelled to say that we men are not so much ahead of women after all, and the only way we have kept our reputation up is by keeping her down—and don’t you forget it!
    George E. Foster, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. The Woman’s Magazine, pp. 38-41 (October 1886)

The barriers of conventionality have been raised so high, and so strangely cemented by long existence, that the only hope of overthrowing them exists in the union of numbers linked together by common opinion and effort ... the united watchword of thousands would strike at the foundation of the false system and annihilate it.
Mme. Ellen Louise Demorest 1824–1898, U.S. women’s magazine editor and woman’s club movement pioneer. Demorest’s Illustrated Monthly and Mirror of Fashions, p. 203 (January 1870)

Men have two ways of righting their wrongs, by force and by the ballot. Both are denied to women, one by nature, the other by man.
    Ida A. Harper 1851–1931, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. Fireman’s Magazine, repr. In The Woman’s Magazine, pp. 423-5 (May 1887)
