The air base included a full service hospital for the use of stationed airmen, their families and nearby military personnel. Danny Elfman, (front man of the 1980s band Oingo Boingo and soundtrack composer for Batman, Beetlejuice, Men In Black, etc.) the son of an Air Force instructor, was reportedly born there on May 29, 1953.
