Amaranth (song) - Reach

Reach was the original title for Amaranth when Nightwish began recording the demos for 'Dark Passion Play'. After they had chosen their new female singer in February 2007, the lead vocals of the song was changed from Marco Hietala to Anette Olzon and the lyrics of the chorus and parts of the music was changed, becoming "Amaranth". "Reach" was later included as a the second track on the "Amaranth" CD single.

Famous quotes containing the word reach:

The way in which men cling to old institutions after the life has departed out of them, and out of themselves, reminds me of those monkeys which cling by their tails—aye, whose tails contract about the limbs, even the dead limbs, of the forest, and they hang suspended beyond the hunter’s reach long after they are dead. It is of no use to argue with such men. They have not an apprehensive intellect, but merely, as it were a prehensile tail.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp,
    Or what’s a heaven for?
    Robert Browning (1812–1889)

We’ve forgotten what it’s like not to be able to reach the light switch. We’ve forgotten a lot of the monsters that seemed to live in our room at night. Nevertheless, those memories are still there, somewhere inside us, and can sometimes be brought to the surface by events, sights, sounds, or smells. Children, though, can never have grown-up feelings until they’ve been allowed to do the growing.
    Fred Rogers (20th century)
