Personal Life
Ustad Amanat Ali died in his 40s in Lahore on September 17, 1974 of an appendix breakage. His son Ustad Asad Amanat Ali Khan inherited his father's beautiful voice and talent. After a very successful music career, Asad Amanat Ali died due to a heart attack on April 8, 2007, in London. His eldest son Amjad Amanat Ali Khan also died very young. His younger son, Shafqat Ali Khan is a successful fusion and sometime playback singer.
Since most of the newer singers like his son Shafqat Amanat Ali has moved away from classical Patiala style singing, this leaves Amanat's brothers Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan and Hamid Ali Khan, as the last of the Patiala legends.
