Aluminized Steel - Types

Types

  • Type 1

Hot-dip coated with a thin layer of aluminum/silicon alloy containing 5% to 11% silicon to promote better adherence. It is intended principally for heat resisting applications and also for uses where corrosion resistance and heat are involved. Possible end uses are mufflers, furnaces, ovens, ranges, heaters, water heaters, fireplaces, and baking pans.

Aluminized Steel can with stand 550 degree celsius with almost no change in the base material. But due to silicon content it develops black spot.

Aluminized steel has slowly started to convert bakery trays which was previously made by galvanize or galvalume steel as it dose not contain lead which is poisons for human health.

Type 1 is also commonly found in industrial products.
  • Type 2

Hot-dip coated with commercially pure aluminum. It is intended principally for applications requiring atmospheric corrosion resistance. Type 2 may ultimately be manufactured into corrugated roofing and siding, grain bins, drying ovens, and air-conditioner condenser housings.

Famous quotes containing the word types:

If there is nothing new on the earth, still the traveler always has a resource in the skies. They are constantly turning a new page to view. The wind sets the types on this blue ground, and the inquiring may always read a new truth there.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

He’s one of those know-it-all types that, if you flatter the wig off him, he chatter like a goony bird at mating time.
—Michael Blankfort. Lewis Milestone. Johnson (Reginald Gardner)

Our major universities are now stuck with an army of pedestrian, toadying careerists, Fifties types who wave around Sixties banners to conceal their record of ruthless, beaverlike tunneling to the top.
    Camille Paglia (b. 1947)
