Altitude Sports and Entertainment

Altitude Sports and Entertainment (usually referred to as simply Altitude) is a regional sports network that serves the Rocky Mountain region, specifically Denver. It officially launched on Sept. 4, 2004.

It was launched by Stan Kroenke, who owns the Denver Nuggets of the NBA, the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL, the Colorado Rapids of MLS, the Denver Outlaws of MLL the Colorado Mammoth of the NLL, and is a major shareholder of Arsenal FC of the Premier League. Altitude features in-depth coverage of all four of these teams, including broadcasting the majority of Avalanche, Outlaws, Rapids and Nuggets games. The logo bug changes colors depending on the team--powder blue and gold for the Nuggets, burgundy and dark blue for the Avalanche, maroon and black for the Mammoth and crimson and sky blue for the Rapids.

Entertainment programming includes live theatre and music concerts.

Altitude is also home to the Colorado Rockies Triple A Baseball affiliate (Colorado Springs Sky Sox) and the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League. Altitude has contracts allowing them to broadcast live college football games from the WAC and the Big Sky Conference. Additional collegiate games come from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They are an ESPN Plus affiliate in football for the SEC Network, the Western Athletic Conference and the Big East Network. They also broadcast select games from the WAC Sports Network, and they get to rebroadcast any WAC games that air on the ESPN Family of Networks. For college basketball they maintain Big Sky rights and WAC rights, but they broadcast a package of games from the Big 12 Network over the Big East and the SEC.

Bill Owens, the former governor of Colorado, hosted a talk show on the network during the final two years of his administration. Also in the Altitude lineup is a simulcast of a radio show co-hosted by veteran basketball referee Irv Brown.

Altitude also has an overflow channel for when game times overlap called Altitude 2.
