Allah Nazar Baloch - Baloch Students Organization

Baloch Students Organization

Dr Allah Nazar joined BSO in 1989 when he was still studying in Atta Shad Degree College as a premedical student. After completing Higher Secondary School he took the job of a government teacher.Being highly ambitious he very soon left this job and got admission in Bolan Medical College to pursue a degree in medicine. In Quetta the atmosphere was politically rich and his best hobby was to indulge in political discussions. From here he made a lot of friends and foes.At that time after the failure of the 1973 insurgency it was practically impossible to talk and teach about independence.Having a clear vision for independence, he was always at odds with the BSO leadership who on the other hand were not willing to work for an independent Balochistan. This internal conflict in 2002 resulted in the division of BSO with DR Allah Nazar emerging as the Organizer of a BSO azad .The Pakistani government being afraid of the radical teachings, filed a case and thus jailed him.Dr Allah Nazar in return responded with a hunger strike in jail.Soon the charges were dropped and he was released.Initially he did not get a good response from the public but as his image of a true and dedicated leader rose he was able to get the backing of some of the students.Trying to unify the radical minded students he wangled a merger of BSO azad and BSO star, the latter was headed by Hameed Shaheen .Both Hameed and Allah nazar preferred to work among the masses instead on the students.Their trusted new Organizer was Malik Baloch.Malik Baloch called for the first council session of the new BSO mutahida in 2004.Dr Imdad Baloch was elected as the new chairman. With new activists at its hand BSO mutahida gained in popularity while Dr Allah Nazar kept an eye on the organization often leading them from behind the scenes. At a political meeting in Karachi the ISI abducted both the former and the then top leadership of BSO mutahida DR Imdad Baloch,Dr Yousuf Murad Baloch,Ghulam Rasool Baloch,Dr Allah Nazar Baloch,Dr Naseem Baloch,Akhter s/o Lal Baksh,Ali Nawaz hoping that this action would demoralize the organization.

This was the moment that gave great popularity to the forces fighting for independence. This action instead of demoralizing the organization brought it to the front pages, creating new public awareness followed by strikes and public demonstrations throughout Balochistan and Karachi, the ISI was forced to handle the detainees to the court. The court dropped all the charges and ordered the release of all of them. The government of Pakistan still detained DR Allah Nazar,Akhter and ALi nawaz under the black ordinance of M.P.O.Further strikes and uprising lead to their release. From here on Dr Allah Nazar realized that peaceful political activities are not possible under the Pakistani colonial framework. He joined the Balochistan Liberation Front a militant organization struggling for independence. It is speculated that he has risen to be the head of BLF.

Famous quotes containing the words students and/or organization:

I know that I will always be expected to have extra insight into black texts—especially texts by black women. A working-class Jewish woman from Brooklyn could become an expert on Shakespeare or Baudelaire, my students seemed to believe, if she mastered the language, the texts, and the critical literature. But they would not grant that a middle-class white man could ever be a trusted authority on Toni Morrison.
Claire Oberon Garcia, African American scholar and educator. Chronicle of Higher Education, p. B2 (July 27, 1994)

When a man’s partner’s killed, he’s supposed to do something about it. It doesn’t make any difference what you thought of him, he was your partner and you’re supposed to do something about it. As it happens, we’re in the detective business; well, when one of your organization gets killed, it’s, it’s bad business to let the killer get away with it. Bad all around. Bad for every detective everywhere.
    John Huston (1906–1987)
