Famous quotes containing the words books and, books and/or honors:

I alternate between reading cook books and reading diet books.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)

Americans will listen, but they do not care to read. War and Peace must wait for the leisure of retirement, which never really comes: meanwhile it helps to furnish the living room. Blockbusting fiction is bought as furniture. Unread, it maintains its value. Read, it looks like money wasted. Anthony Burgess (b. 1917)

He most honors my style who learns under it to destroy the teacher.
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
