Shuter's Hill Brewery
In 1858, he partnered with John Klein to set up Shuter's Hill Brewer, which is located at the base of Shooter's Hill in Alexandria, Virginia, close to Hooff's Run, where King and Duke Streets now extend. This venture introduced lager beer to Virginia. In 1860, he sold out his interest in the company for US$2,000.
