Alexander Bunge

Alexander Georg von Bunge (Russian: Aleksandr Andreevich von Bunge, Алекса́ндр Андре́евич Бу́нге; 6 October 1803 – 18 July 1890) was a Baltic German botanist. He was a professor of botany at the University of Tartu, and was director of the department from 1842 until 1844. He undertook many scientific expeditions into Asia and especially Siberia.

His son Alexander von Bunge (1851–1930) was a zoologist and explorer.
