Famous quotes containing the word degree:

Thus every new beginning recapitulates in some degree man’s first beginning.
    Eric Hoffer (1902–1983)

Never before has a civilization reached such a degree of a contempt for life; never before has a generation, drowned in mortification, felt such a rage to live.
    Raoul Vaneigem (b. 1934)

But in every constitution some large degree of animal vigor is necessary as material foundation for the higher qualities of the art.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
