Albany Students' Association - Satellite Magazine

Satellite Magazine

Satellite was the fortnightly magazine of the Albany Campus of Massey University. It was awarded second for best small publication in the 2006 ASPA awards. Satellite has had some controversy over the past few years in particular surrounding the views of columnist Cowboy Matt. The magazine's print run was 1500 copies per issue. As of 2012 Satellite magazine was replaced by a cross campus magazine named Massive, the voice of Massey students.

Famous quotes containing the words satellite and/or magazine:

Books are the best things, well used; abused, among the worst. What is the right use? What is the one end, which all means go to effect? They are for nothing but to inspire. I had better never see a book, than to be warped by its attraction clean out of my own orbit, and made a satellite instead of a system.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

It is useless to check the vain dunce who has caught the mania of scribbling, whether prose or poetry, canzonets or criticisms,—let such a one go on till the disease exhausts itself. Opposition like water, thrown on burning oil, but increases the evil, because a person of weak judgment will seldom listen to reason, but become obstinate under reproof.
Sarah Josepha Buell Hale 1788–1879, U.S. novelist, poet and women’s magazine editor. American Ladies Magazine, pp. 36-40 (December 1828)
