Alan Smart is an animator and an animation director best known for his work for SpongeBob SquarePants and as a director, assistant director and layout artist with The Simpsons (the only episode he was credited for directing is the season three episode, "Flaming Moe's").
He also did animation for the Nickelodeon cartoons CatDog, Hey Arnold!, Rocko's Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy.
He has also done animation on four animated films: The Little Mermaid, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Oliver & Company and The Chipmunk Adventure.
