Alan Averill

Alan Averill (aka A.A. Nemtheanga) is an Irish musician most notable for his vocal duties for the folk/black metal band Primordial. Averill joined Primordial in 1991, thus being a founding member of that band. He was also the vocalist for the doom metal band Void of Silence, but, as announced on 17 April 2009, parted ways with them because of his engagement to Primordial.

Averill was raised in Sutton on Dublin's Northside and attended Mount Temple secondary school. He joined Primordial in August 1991 after seeing an advert in a local music shop. In 2008, he received a Journalism degree from Dublin City University and is a staff writer for Zero Tolerance magazine. He also fronts the Bathory tribute band "Twilight Of The Gods".

In 2010 he has also begun as an A&R representative for Metal Blade records as well as forming his own Poison Tongue label as an imprint. He traveled to Canada early to record vocals for "Indoctrine", the debut album from Blood Revolt with Vermin and J. Read (Axis Of Advance, Conqueror). The album was released by Profound Lore and Invictus in late 2010.
