Al Raha

Al Raha is an area of land development in Abu Dhabi generally in Khalifa City A, to the north-east of the Capital that flanks the coast, with waterfront access along what was known as "Ladies Beach", and extending inward across the main highway (Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - National Road 11) that links Abu Dhabi to Dubai. The area lies between Um Al Nar and Abu Dhabi International Airport and is being developed as a major mixed commercial, residential, and leisure project by Abu Dhabi developers Aldar Properties. In 2006 Aldar Properties signed a joint venture with UK construction company Laing O'Rourke to deliver substantial development projects in Abu Dhabi, in particular around the Al Raha area.

Al Raha includes two distinct developments; Al Raha Beach along the waterfront composed of 11 "Precincts", and Al Raha Gardens inland from the highway and primarily composed of low-rise residential villas and a regional retail centre. The development will be home to residential communities, hotels, beaches, marinas, retailing and commercial accommodation.

The development will feature eleven precincts. These are: Al Zeina, Khor Al Raha, Al Bandar, Al Seef, Al Dana, Al Rumaila, Al Zahiya, Al Lissayli, Al Shaleela, Al Razeen, and Al Thurayya.
