There are two Sailani baba temples in Akola Bazar. Every year in April just when school exams are over, there will be one day samdal. Procession starts from Sailani Baba near Bajarangbali temple, goes to another temple in Savkar peth and comes back. There will 5-6 people playing dhol tashe to make the atmosphere energtic or rather electrify it. It used to be a big fun!

Famous quotes containing the words cultural, social and/or events:
“To recover the fatherhood idea, we must fashion a new cultural story of fatherhood. The moral of todays story is that fatherhood is superfluous. The moral of the new story must be that fatherhood is essential.”
—David Blankenhorn (20th century)
“Almsgiving tends to perpetuate poverty; aid does away with it once and for all. Almsgiving leaves a man just where he was before. Aid restores him to society as an individual worthy of all respect and not as a man with a grievance. Almsgiving is the generosity of the rich; social aid levels up social inequalities. Charity separates the rich from the poor; aid raises the needy and sets him on the same level with the rich.”
—Eva Perón (19191952)
“Custom, then, is the great guide of human life. It is that principle alone, which renders our experience useful to us, and makes us expect, for the future, a similar train of events with those which have appeared in the past.”
—David Hume (17111776)
