The President, as commander-in-chief, has 3 aides (usually including one traditionally from the French Army and all the rank of lieutenant colonel). Their mission is primarily transporting the case related to the use of nuclear weapons, they can also provide general assistance missions, such statements when it is possible to see an aide file the president's speech on the desk upon arrival or during a ceremony badge hold a note (sort of cheat sheets) with the protocol phrases included.

When traveling, the aide is often placed in front of the presidential car, it is one of the people closest to the president.
